Research for Action
An education research organization working to advance systems change
branding, illustration, social media, layout
Research for Action produces rigorous, equity-focused research that has the potential to influence education policy at the local, state, and national level. As a brand steward supporting the communications director, my role was to uphold RFA’s visual standards and ensure that every piece of content, from research report announcements to staff updates, reflected the professionalism and credibility of the organization. That meant developing social media graphics that communicated complex findings clearly and accessibly, without sacrificing the integrity of the brand or the weight of the work behind it.
Teacher Mobility Graphics:
Teacher mobility is the movement of teachers between schools or the decision to leave the teaching profession. To raise awareness around teacher mobility, these illustrations were created for RFA’s social media and website. The left illustration depicts a teacher leaving a school, and the students are still behind, wondering what happens next. The right shows an educator teaching a lesson to their students.
TeachIn:
The RFA TeachIn explored efforts toward diversifying the teacher workforce with live speakers and printed materials at the TeachIn. The event's headline was "The Need for More Teachers of Color," and the graphic above was used on the speaker's podium and as the cover of an informational booklet.
