Assemblage is art made by assembling different items, often everyday objects, that are scavenged by the artist or bought specially. This art form is the inspiration for this magazine, and artist, La Wilson, is the subject of this feature article. This magazine project included a cover design and the layout design for a table of contents and 3 article spreads.

I was drawn to the yellow color in the artist's work on the second spread and used it as the main color in my palette. I loved the way it popped on a dark background and that’s when I decided to add light blue to the palette. The definition of Assemblage in art inspires the masthead: "a form of sculpture comprised of "found" objects arranged in such a way that they create a piece." I thought this was a unique opportunity to play with different kinds of type, and used 10 different typefaces to create the "Assemblage" masthead. I was able to create a lot of contrast with my chosen palette and typographic choices.
